A Canada Visitor Visa also referred to as a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) or Canada Tourist Visa, is an official document issued by a Canadian visa office that is placed in your passport to
show that you have met the requirements for admission to Canada as a temporary resident. Most visitors can stay for up to 6 months in Canada. At the port of entry, the immigration border services may allow you to stay for less or more than 6 months. If you’re currently in Canada and want to stay longer than your visa’s expiration date, you could file for an extension. According to the Canadian Immigration Act, a visitor visa is necessary to allow a foreign resident to enter the country for the purpose of trade & tourism. It doesn’t permit an individual to work over there.

The Super Visa is a multi-entry visa that provides multiple entries for a period up to 10 years. The key difference is that the Super Visa allows an individual to stay for up to two years at a time in Canada, while a 10-year multiple entry visa would only have a status period for each entry of six months only. Parents or grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents may be eligible to apply for the Super Visa.
